Canada Post looked to Innovapost to grow its Direct Marketing Line of Business by developing innovative solutions that remove barriers small businesses face in developing a Direct Marketing campaign.
The result was the development and launch of the Canada Post Direct Marketing Onlineâ„¢ service (www.directmarketingonline.ca), an end-to-end direct marketing solution that enables businesses to create and execute a national Direct Marketing campaign in as little as 20 minutes.
Innovapost developed a strategy to create a wave of new direct marketers in Canada by making Direct Marketing, particularly direct mail, more accessible to users. The key barriers identified were data quality and availability, campaign time-to-market, and a general lack of knowledge of direct marketing practices. Innovapost explored the concept of creating an online application to facilitate intuitive, self-service creation and delivery of Direct Marketing campaigns, both printed and email format.
Through an easy, step-by-step process, businesses can select from hundreds of professionally-designed templates, add their desired messaging, upload their own mailing lists or purchase lists online, and execute their mail campaign through Canada Post delivery. The solution even lets users create a web response page with a unique URL linked to their mail campaign to track responses and campaign effectiveness. With Direct Marketing Onlineâ„¢, businesses no longer have to deal with multiple vendors or navigate the complexities of print and mail specifications, making direct mail an attractive, affordable marketing activity.
The Innovapost Business Consulting Group worked on Direct Marketing Onlineâ„¢ from concept to launch, establishing an understanding of small business marketing, defining an appropriate target market and sizing the potential opportunity. Once the online product concept was given the green light, the team worked to gather application requirements, assess and secure partners, and execute a launch plan.
