In its first five years of existence, Innovapost has evolved from a modest IT/IS startup shop employing a few hundred into a thriving team of more than 750 with offices in Ottawa, Toronto, and Mississauga.
- Innovapost was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between Canada Post and CGI Inc.
- In its first year of operations, Innovapost reduced IT infrastructure services costs to Canada Post by as much as 20%.
- By 2004, Innovapost had build an extensive business consulting practice that helps clients with IT transformation, corporate strategy, business planning, product/service development, conceptual solution design, and change management.
- In 2005, Innovapost became one of a select group of companies to earn SAP’s Customer Competence Center certification, confirming that Innovapost ranks among world-leading organizations for the efficiency and professionalism of SAP systems management and user support.
- As of 2006, Innovapost had exceeded the original business case by delivering savings of CDN$78M on baseline IT costs to the Canada Post Group of Companies (original plan targetted CDN$65M)—an additional saving of 23.4%.
- As of 2009, Innovapost has contributed over $300M in savings to Canada Post and Purolator since 2003. For Canada Post alone, application support costs decreased by 20%, and infrastructure costs decreased by 29%.
